Bonkalski

Louis and Katherine Bonkalski came to Romeoville around 1893. They had five children. Louis worked in the stone quarries. In 1908, a fire burned their home, an apartment upstairs from Swanson’s store. They lost all their personal possessions in the blaze. The Bonkalski family later bought a farm on 135th Street.
