Fracaro

The Fracaro family originally emigrated from Asiago, Italy. The first Romeoville-area Fracaros, Nicholas and Theresa, were married in Joliet, Illinois in 1906. They would have 10 children. The Fracaro farm had several dairy cows. Milk and cheese was produced. The proximity of the farm to Romeo Beach allowed the Fracaros to earn extra money by boarding visitors. After renting farms throughout the area for many years, in 1938 the family bought a farm on High Road in Lockport Township. Mabel Fracaro Hrpcha, seventh child of Nicholas and Theresa, was the author of the Romeoville Area Historical Society book Romeoville, Illinois. In the book, she chronicled the life of early Romeoville-area residents.
